Plant Origin
Raspberry is a woody plant of the genus Clusia in the family Rosaceae, and its fruit is a polymerized fruit, which consists of the aggregation of numerous small drupes. And raspberry oil is obtained from the seeds of raspberries. The common raspberry species used to extract raspberry oil is mainly the North American red raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.), which is a perennial deciduous shrub widely distributed in the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere.

Extraction Methods
Cold Pressed
This is a more traditional physical extraction method. The raspberry seeds are cleaned, impurities are removed, and then the oils in the seeds are squeezed out by mechanical pressure. This method does not use chemical solvents and can maximize the retention of natural nutrients in raspberry oil, such as vitamin E, essential fatty acids, etc. The resulting oil is of high quality, but the oil yield is relatively low.
Solvent Extraction
This method uses an organic solvent (e.g. hexane) to soak the raspberry seeds so that the oil is dissolved in the solvent. The solvent is then removed by evaporation, such as by heating, to obtain raspberry oil. This method has a high oil yield, but due to the use of organic solvents, there may be a small amount of solvent residue, and subsequent strict refining is required to ensure the safety and quality of the oil.
